Family visits! (part 6)

On Saturday morning, we decided to go to Arles.  There are some Roman ruins there: an amphitheater and a colosseum.  When we first got there, there was a market going on so we wandered through.  Like all of the markets in Europe that I've been to, they sold nearly everything under the sun.
After getting through the market we walked over to the ruins (if they could be called that, they weren't very ruined).  They were interesting but not enough-so to pay to go inside.
After that, we had a nice outdoor lunch where I had a yummy pizza.
After that, we decided we were done with Arles so we headed out to see what else we could see.  Looking in the Rick Steve's book, we found a nearby town called Isle-sur-la-Sorgue which was supposedly charming and filled with canals.
We got there and walked around for a bit, looking at some shops.
After that, we stopped at a gelato shop.  We mostly stopped there because they served their gelato in very fancy colorful glasses, but the line was too long for a table so we just got cones and sat on the steps of the canal.
There were also these really cool algae covered water mills that were there.
After that, we headed back home to Beaucaire for the night.  Then my mom and grandpa wandered around to take pictures of Beaucaire.  Here are their findings:
The apartment and its balcony:
The castle visible across the river:
The port in town:
